You’ll start your walk outside the world’s largest museum, the Louvre. Admire the spectacular architecture of this former royal palace as your guide explains its history, and the best way to see the amazing collection housed inside. Then stroll along the banks of the River Seine, past the famous ‘bouquinistes’ and their iconic green book stalls, the gorgeous Pont des Arts and onto the Ile de la Cité, the island where Paris was founded. We’ll cross the oldest bridge in Paris, giving us sweeping views over the river and the major monuments that line its banks, before strolling through one of the prettiest squares in the city, filled with café tables under the trees. You’ll see the imposing medieval palace and revolutionary prison of the Conciergerie, last home to Marie-Antoinette, the lovely flower market and of course the facade of Notre Dame Cathedral, where you’ll hear about the devastating fire of 2019 and witness the ongoing restorations. We’ll end our tour in the lively and picturesque Latin Quarter, once home to the literary legends of the Lost Generation, nowadays the perfect place to enjoy lunch or dinner with its eclectic array of cafés and restaurants.

Your guide is not only an expert, but also a local, who will share with you the history of the city along with tips and recommendations on the best things to do, the best way to do them, and of course their personal favourites when it comes to neighbourhoods to visit, what and where to eat, and much more! It’s the ideal way to start your Paris adventure and ensure you get the most out of this fascinating and historic city.
